Refrain from Weeping

I trust that this weekly in-touch will find you all in good health. Let me take this moment to thank all of you who participated in the call to pray for children in each of the 50 states as well as for children in the various continents.  We have officially come to the end of the calendar but please feel free to keep the prayer torch going.

For this week I would like to encourage those of you dealing with children who are rebellious.  Dealing with a child who opposes everything you teach or believe in can become frustrating to say the least. It can become so overwhelming that we stop seeing them as gifts from God and instead we see them as “our cross to bear”  Some of us spend sleepless nights worrying about where they are or what they may be doing and in the end we are left with ulcers, high blood pressure and palpitations. In our worry and frustration we forget to use our weapon of prayer, coupled with our faith. As crazy at it may sound, our worry and frustration will not change that rebellious child.  Regardless of how rebellious you think your child is they are not more that God is able to manage. Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I [am] the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me? The answer is no.  I do know that it is much easier to say things that it is to actually do them, but give it a try.

Let’s do what Jeremiah says- Jeremiah 31: 16-17 Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy. And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.

That is the word of the Lord your work -raising of your children, your prayer- shall be rewarded, says the LORD, and they -your children- shall come back from the land of the enemy. There is hope -something you can expect- in your future, says the LORD that your children shall come back to their own border -place of peace, safety and well-being. Don't focus on how bad it is now, instead focus on the promise of the Word and the power of the Lord to bring it to pass. So begin to give him Praise and start to rejoice if you look hard enough you will see them coming down the road- they are coming back!!!

In His Service,

 Vilma
